How this began
Twenty three years ago, I sat down and wrote a list. Not a vision board. Not a set of affirmations. A very specific, very honest list of every quality I wanted in a partner. I specifically wrote down “kindness” & "someone who would happily make me a cup of tea". And I wrote it from a place of genuine worthiness, knowing that I deserved nothing less than this.
But that list wasn't written from nowhere. It was written on the other side of something.
Before that relationship, I had spent many years in one where I lost myself. I accepted low quality behaviour & emotionally abusive for a long time, the kind that slowly erodes your sense of worth until you can barely remember who you were before. Until I walked away, leaving everything but my cat & my clothes. Walking away was one of the most important things I have ever done. Because it was the moment I chose myself. The moment I decided that what I felt on the inside. my own sense of worth mattered more.
And so I wrote the list. Not desperately. Not from lack. But from a quiet, grounded certainty that this woman, the one who had finally chosen herself deserved every single thing on it. We are still together twenty-three years later. And he still happily makes me a cup of tea most mornings.
I’ve loved manifestation for as long as I can remember, the feeling of it, the possibility of it, the way it asks you to believe in something before you can see it. But for years something felt incomplete. I read everything I could find and yet there was always a gap between the wanting and the becoming - an action piece that felt missing, a distance between who I was and who I was trying to become that I couldn’t quite close.
That changed when I found the work of Dr Joe Dispenza & specifically his understanding of what it truly means to believe, behave and become. What landed most deeply for me was this: in the quantum field, there is no separation between you & your future self. The version of you who already has what you desire - who already feels peaceful, abundant, confident, alive - she is not a distant destination. She exists now, in the field, as a real & present possibility. What I discovered didn't just change how I understood manifestation. It changed everything - about why the body must be part of the process, about why the nervous system is the gatekeeper nobody talks about & about why feeling is not the final step in becoming your future self.

You have probably tried manifestation before, as have I. You may have visualised, said the affirmations, created boards, repeated the mantras, all of it. You may have had moments where it felt like something was shifting & then life kind of took over & the feeling faded. Maybe you were left wondering what you were doing wrong?
You were not doing anything wrong. You were simply missing one crucial piece.
Every manifestation approach from the most spiritual to the most scientific asks you to change your thoughts. To believe differently. To imagine a new reality clearly enough that it begins to feel true. And thought matters. Belief matters. But there is something that matters more.

And here is the thing most manifestation approaches never address, if your nervous system is running on urgency, scarcity, low-level threat or chronic stress, it will not allow you to genuinely inhabit a new version of yourself. No matter how clearly you visualise her. No matter how sincerely you affirm her existence. Your body knows that it’s a lie.
You may hear the words. You may even feel them briefly. But your body will not receive them because your body is still running the old programme. The one that says this is not safe. This is not real. The Science of Heart Brain coherence
The HeartMath Institute has spent over thirty years researching the relationship between the heart, the brain & the nervous system. What they have found is remarkable. The heart is not simply a pump. It has its own nervous system - a complex network of neurons that communicates directly with the brain. And the quality of that communication the signal the heart sends, has a profound effect on how we think, feel, perceive & respond to the world around us.
When we are stressed, anxious or overwhelmed, the heart rhythm becomes irregular & disordered. This sends a signal to the brain that creates mental fog, emotional reactivity & a nervous system locked in survival mode. In this state, we cannot access our highest thinking. We cannot genuinely feel new emotional possibilities. We can only manage what is immediately in front of us. It’s like having a very narrow aperture on a camera lens.
But when we enter a state of heart-brain coherence - a specific physiological state in which the heart rhythm becomes smooth, ordered and rhythmic , something remarkable happens. The signal to the brain changes. The nervous system shifts from survival into what researchers describe as an optimal state, one of open receptivity, emotional regulation, creative thinking & genuine learning.
In coherence, the body becomes able to receive new emotional experiences - not just understand them, but feel them as real.

She already exists, as a real and present possibility in the field, waiting not to be created, but to be tuned into. In the quantum field, there is no separation. Dispenza's research shows that when we genuinely feel the emotional reality of our future self — not imagine it from a distance, but feel it as a present, lived experience in the body, we begin to send a different signal. A different frequency. And the quantum field responds to frequency.
